Momma Mandy

Last week I met up with my good friend Mandy to shoot her big ole' belly. She wanted to wait as long as possible cause she wanted her belly to be huge in the pics. She is so big, I was worried we wouldn't get them done before Elsie was ready to join the world. But we did it! She was actually due yesterday, so I figured I'd better blog fast or I would be blogging baby pics at the same time.

Full-sun pic... normally a big fat no-no, but I loved her in sunglasses and the tree just looked so cool with the shadows and all in black and white.

Lauren and John

Hellllooo!! Wow, I cannot believe how crazy-busy I have been. I have obviously not been busy writing blogs, but finally, here I am. I have so many weddings, babies and e-sessions to post I could spend the rest of the week doing just that. But, alas, editing prevails, so that won't happen, but I did definitely want to share Lauren and John's wedding with you. They got married in the cutest church ever out in South Knoxville (actually right across the street from where I went to elementary school). LOVED IT! The sweet arched doors and windows were so cool.
Lauren's spring flowers were just beautiful.

I love John's beard. I had seen Lauren and John a week before the wedding and that was the first question I asked Lauren on Saturday... was John keeping the beard?? I think it rocks! And you know what else rocked? John's cuff links. In the traditional fashion, John and Lauren got each other "wedding day" presents, but the gifts they gave were anything but traditional. Lauren got John these super-super cool lego-man cuff links...

I have some brides who book a wedding and then time passes so fast and I don't get to talk to them again but just very rarely up until the wedding, but some, like Lauren and I, stay in pretty close contact. I feel like I really got to know a little bit about Lauren and I am so happy that I did. I will definitely miss hearing from her regularly.

This picture was taken just as they were seeing each other for the first time. John's smile says it all...

Lauren's parents were so, so sweet. Her dad could barely look at her without tearing up a bit.

This is Lauren and her grandfather watching guests arriving for the wedding. They were sitting there with the lights off so no one would see Lauren through the window and she was rubbing his back... so sweet!

John also gave Lauren a card... this picture is too cute 'cause as she is reading, tears start streaming and he cups his hand under her face to catch them, which of course made Lauren smile...

I know, i know... Umbrellas are in all my pics this year... but you know what? It has been one rainy spring! It seems that every wedding has a little of it. They say rain on your wedding day is good luck for the future!

How can anyone not love sparklers? They make me feel like a total kid.

Thanks Lauren and John! I can't imagine any two people more made for each other and I am so grateful I was there for it all.

Brooke and Patrick Slideshow

video

So, I'm trying some different things here and practicing a new technique for putting together slideshows. I was inspired by my friend Andrew... He's been doing some really great work like this for some time for both commercial and personal use, but I thought I would give it a try. It is definitely not your everyday wedding slideshow. I think it does a much better (and way cooler) job of telling the story. Keep in mind that this is totally shot using stills and then pasting them together. Give it a look and let me know what you think! -Jennie

Cassidy and Manny

I loved this wedding!!! It rained cats and dogs, but Cassidy and Manny were able to just... well... go with the flow (yeah, go ahead, groan). The wedding was out at Sampson's Hollow, but outside shooting was... well... out (what is wrong with me tonight?), so we had to get a bit creative... and I do believe that we totally rocked it. The day was so unique in so many ways. Cassidy was fabulous. She knew how to move, how to smile, how to work the camera. And those eyes to top it off.

Her bridesmaids deserve an award. Cassidy's dress had a cathedral train that had to be kept out of the mud and muck all day. It took three of them to help her carry it around. They were totally amazing (and still managed to be so much fun).

I loved this shot with Cassidy's hands just resting, waiting patiently as her bridesmaids scurried around her flufing her dress...

She was all about her jewels... and that smile!

The guys were staying out at Dancing Bear Lodge, so we snuck over there to make use of their awesome front porch. When it is raining buckets, you make use of every available resource... But I think this is so classic and simple...

But this... is my so very favorite!! This is the story of the day with one photograph. This wasn't the easiest shot to set up with the dress and the mud and the rain and the boots... but they still look so natural and at ease...

I think the motion in this picture is really fabulous. I was up on a small landing above the dance floor.

Cassidy and Manny let me get up close and personal. I think this is the sweetest picture...

Thank heavens for rain boots! Cassidy had the great idea to get a pair for all of her bridesmaids and let me just say that not only were they so much fun to use, they also saved the day. Walking around in heels would've been a total nightmare!!
