A few posts back, I shared some pics of my friend Kate's baby belly pics. As tends to happen, her belly turned into a baby. I was so excited that she asked me to come take a couple shots of Mr. Finnley, and I absolutely couldn't wait to share a couple of them...You may remember that Kate did Finn's name on the wall behind his crib... She is one of the most creative people I know.
Love this... I think the mix of textures (his hair, the jeans, her ring the white blanket) are really cool together.
Kate has a thing for monkeys, so she painted the three canvases in the background. They are so cute.
Just love it...

Bridal Show

I just wanted to do a quick blog this morning to say thanks to everyone who stopped by to see me at the Knoxville Bridal Show yesterday. I had a great day meeting so many brides... I love shows...everyone is so happy... so many girls I talked to had gotten engaged over the holidays and were just starting to plan their weddings. It is such a fun road!
I also thought I would post a couple pictures of my booth for those of you who didn't make it to the show. I gotta give credit where credit is due on this one. I've been so busy, I had to "hire" a couple of employees (namely my wonderful husband and my amazing mom) to pull it all together for me. Jason built my lime green walls and mom spent hours framing all those pictures, then they both (along with my dad, sis and brother-in-law) spent all afternoon Saturday putting it all up. I LOVE MY FAMILY!The best graphic designer in the entire world (Kate Moore) hand painted my sign for me...
We used my church pew that I have in my living room as the centerpiece of the booth.
I love the zebra rug... it was perfect! It was exactly what I envisioned... so me.

Heather and Greg

Heather and Greg's first date was at the Ice Skating rink on Market Square... so that's where we headed (of course!) for their engagement session. We got rained out about three times before we finally made it, but here they are!

First, we did a little "tour de downtown" and took a few shots here and there.
I LOVE this next one... anytime I am able to capture a smile this genuine, it makes me fall in love with my job all over again.

and getting a little funky with the sun...Then, on to the skating rink. Greg even laced her boots...
I love any shot with movement. Poor Heather and Greg had to stand there forever locking lips until I had the perfect moment with lots of skater around them... don't you feel bad for them?

The lighting in this alley was really cool... and the shot turned out exactly as I hoped. The Christmas lights were still up in Crutch Park... so we stopped by to take advantage of them.

They are getting married next May and I can't wait!

Megan and Steve

Hola all! I just realized what a slacker I have been with this blog lately... ok, so cut me a little bit of a break... my computer has been in the shop since just after Christmas and I am finally getting back with the program. I've felt so out of touch... and in the middle of the craziest time of the year. Christmas, getting ready for the bridal show and finishing up everything for 2008's brides all came together for a busy couple of weeks.
But, now I'm back in action with a wedding shot over Christmas.
Introducing Megan and Steve...
The day was absolutely beautiful!! I swear they could've gotten married outside and it would've been just fine... it was not like any December day I can remember.
Megan has some gorgeous eyes... I love this picture, she just looks so at ease and content...
here I go again with my artsy-fartsyness...
We set this up so Megan and Steve would have a special first glimpse of each other... this was taken seconds before Steve walked up the steps to see her for the first time in her dress. I always try to make this a special moment for any bride and groom. It'll only happen once.
... and immediately after they met...
I love this PJ shot of the flowergirls . They were running around the rec center just before the wedding. The room was super dark, so I had to snap the shot right as they were in front of the window for light.
I loved the ceremony location. It was at Broadway Baptist. The church had this kinda Frank Lloyd Wright Vibe a little bit. Check out those pipes...
I gotta say, this was one boogeyin' group! They invited Dave Landeo (www.landeo.com) to play the reception and he is SO MUCH FUN!
Megan and her dad gettin' down...way down.
And is there anything sweeter than a groom and a flower girl dancing? I think the movement in this picture is really great... it is one of my very favorites.
Megan and Steve decided to take a little dip to cool down after all that dancin'Congrats guys! I enjoyed it so much.
