Leigh Ann and Jason

I am so, so, so happy that I was able to shoot Leigh Ann and Jason's wedding in Cades Cove. Everything about it reminded me so much of my own wedding. They just had all of their parents there to witness, so it was so intimate and personal. Then, we took a couple of hours and toured the cove, stopping wherever we wanted to shoot some really cool shots in the cove. It was absolutely a photographer's dream.
The ceremony was held under this super cool tree, and the sky was perfect for pictures... the rain just barely held off.
I had the idea to let them borrow one of my antique church pews for their parents to sit on during the ceremony (so much more fun than plastic chairs!). I knew that we could do some really fun shots on it after the wedding too!
My assistant, Wallis, actually took this super-dramatic shot that I thought was so cool with the sun streaming through the chinks of one of the log buildings at the cove.
We set up this cool shot and slowed down the shutter so we got that neat effect on the waterfall...The top of the mountain in the background of this shot is where Jason proposed to Leigh Ann...

Alissa and Tom

Just a few pictures from Alissa and Tom's wedding at Whitestone Inn in Kingston, Tn. Alissa and Tom were total troopers despite the 9o degree afternoon. They decided to go ahead and have the wedding outside and I know they will be so happy that they did when they look back on this day.

Fun with flash...
Is she a beauty or what? Check out those baby blues...

Tom's mom checking out Alissa's gorgeous engagement ring.
I love me a big 'ole blue sky!

Such an emotion-filled day for Alissa and Tom. They were such a sweet couple so obviously in total love with each other.
The gorgeous Whitestone Farmhouse in the background...
Why can I not resist always throwing in a picture of someone (typically a groomsman I must add) looking a bit ridiculous on the dance floor?
After everyone else left, my assistant and I hung around and had fun with fireworks! How cool is this. It only took us about 12 tries to get it right.

Ashley and Jeremy July 26, 2008

The Oaks Castle in Johnson City has to be one of my favorite places to shoot. All of those brick arches and ivy everywhere. Brings out the traditional side in me (what little there is of it). Despite the 90 degree weather, the wedding was perfect, the bride was gorgeous and the dancing...well the dancing got a little on the wild side - my kind of reception!

these guys were serious about that garter!
What wedding is complete without "the worm?" (And he did it rather well, I might add)

Rainy days

It seems like every time I have a shoot lately it ends up pouring the rain! And we're talking torrential here, not just a nice little drizzle. But, we've just rolled with the punches and gotten some killer pictures, so of course, I wanted to throw some of them up. Some of a bridal session in Johnson City at the Oaks Castle and some are from an E-session at the UT gardens (which rock by the way!). I will have pictures from both of these weddings up very soon.
You can see the rain in the background of these if you are looking closely enough.
And these don't take any looking hard to see the rain coming in buckets. But, what is more romantic than kissing under an umbrella?
