Baby Belly...

My friend (and oh, so amazing graphic designer) Kate and I got together this week to take some pics of her baby belly. She is so darn cute, even 81/2 months pregnant, so I definitely wanted to share just a couple of them. She is being induced this Saturday so I am sure I will have some pics of baby Finnley to share soon.

Kate is super creative. She got these letters for Finn's name from the craft store and then covered them with moss, sticks, leaves and paint. They are so fun.

Kate and her husband live in a condo and I found this really cool brick wall between some of the buildings. There was even green grass!! It feels like it has been so long since I have seen green grass.
I can never resist the doggies...Good Luck on Saturday Kate!!

Happy Dog-gone Holidays.

Mom made us get the family together for a picture for her Christmas cards, so I thought I'd share it here too. If only you all could have been flies on the wall watching us try to get a good shot with six people and five dogs. At one point we were laughing so hard most of us had tears streaming down our faces. Dogs were growling at each other (and at us), they wouldn't sit still...forget getting them to look at the camera. And meanwhile, I had to set the self-timer on the camera and then had ten seconds to grab Marlee (who followed me to the camera every time) and get situated on the sofa (pretending to be relaxed) before the shutter clicked. I thought we did pretty well considering. By the way... the only two doggies that belong to me are the black one with the white nose who looks as if he is ready to eat my father and the red-head on Jason's lap. She's the one you have to watch out for... we call her "the instigator." Just makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside, huh? Merry Christmas - Jennie

Carrie and Gabe

Ever so often a couple comes along that make me realize all over again how much I love, love, love my job.... Carrie and Gabe were that couple. They were fun, adorable, creative, totally in love and most importantly had a great sense of humor... I think the pictures in the sunglasses sum it up.... I get to do one more session with these two when the weather heats up a little. I'm not sure what they are up for yet, but what ever it is, I am sure it will be a blast.

This pic is from the bridal brunch... One of the girls set her plate down and I noticed the steam rising off of it looked so cool... Carrie's dress was probably my favorite I have seen this year, and she looked gorgeous in it. Lace is just so perfect for the fall...
Carrie has this old Hollywood glam factor about her... she is a classic beauty.
Gabe is a superhero in his other life... I am sure of it. He rocked too... funny, smart...and quite handsome.

So, Carrie and Gabe absolutely did not want to see each other before the wedding, so they put on sunglasses so we could do some shots with their eyes closed. I think it must have loosened them up a bit not being able to see each other (or themselves) because they were hilarious!
This was a sweet moment. Carrie is sitting on the floor reading the letter Gabe wrote and sent to her just minutes before the wedding.
I could seriously play with sparklers for hours! Thanks guys! and Congrats.

Jessica and Will

I love Cades Cove!!! I have a permit to shoot commercially in the park, so I try to take advantage of it whenever possible... I am so glad that Jessica and Will were willing to let me drag them around to some of my favorite spots. We chose the coldest morning of the year so far (of course...my luck), so it was definitely a bit chilly, but they were both great sports! I know that Jessica, especially, was freezing... she is a Texas girl and not used to mountain weather. But was she cute or what? I love her scarf.
My favorite field with Rocky Top in the background... (you may recognize this from another wedding held here earlier this year). The trees were perfect!

This is my favorite picture from the session. In a bigger print, you can see the snow flurries, and the look on Jes's face is pure joy.

Tanya and Noah

Yay!!! Two down, one to go!! Tanya and Noah are getting married next January and asked me to do some engagement pics with them. We hung out down at the world's fair site - which is one of my favorite places to shoot!
I LOVE this pic... i think that it looks like a dream...
So, I'm sure most of you won't get this next shot, but it was actually a special request by Tanya and Noah. They spent their first date together riding jet skis. : -)

E-session madness

Ok folks...so I have a goal and nothing makes a goal really a goal like making it public...
You are about to be bombarded with engagement sessions galore! Three blogs in two days (along with getting all those pics uploaded) and one more by the end of the week. The first one starts NOW!! Introducing.... Brooke and Patrick. These two are tying the knot next February, but had an engagement party scheduled so they wanted some cool shots to display. I love nothing more than dragging a couple all across downtown...so thats what we did. They live in a really cool apartment downtown, so I made them take me there to do some indoor shooting. Brooke is getting ready for the wedding at their apartment, so I am super excited cause we are going to have some killer shots from that!!
This next one is just done with natural light coming in through the window. All the shadows are in the perfect spots.
I gotta say that I love, love these next two of them in the huge window in their bedroom. I think they are too cool.
how cute are they?? look at Brooke's grin in this one....
And, of course, the obligatory tennessee theatre shot...

Biljana and Mark

I am slowly but surely getting all caught up from a crazy couple of weeks. Fall is the busiest time of year for me because not only are we still in peak wedding season, but so many of my 2009 weddings want to do their e-sessions when the leaves are beautiful! I can't blame them...fall is my favorite time of year - especially in east tennessee. I want to post a few pics from a wedding a few weeks ago in Johnson City. It was such a fun day! We started out at the Biljana's parent's home where they had a traditional ceremony (she is from yugoslavia) where they celebrate the bride leaving her parents house for the last time. Her dad is a riot and I can't help posting a few of him and his acting face - priceless!! We headed to the country club for the traditional American ceremony - then off to dance, dance!! I put together a really fun slideshow for these guys too. Check it out at http://gallery.me.com/jenniehandrews/100004

All of my grooms need to take lessons from mark... it always helps a little to have a groom being silly to make a bride laugh! He was perfect...

and so was she...

thanks Biljana and Mark - I am so happy for you both.

Craig and Noel!!

I get so excited when friends ask me to shoot for them... and this was definitely no exception!! Craig and Noel are getting married next fall and I am super psyched for them. They are both big rock climbers so we headed up to the Obed where they spend alot of time. It is so much fun to shoot in a place that is meaningful to a couple - and the beautiful fall leaves were a major plus!!
